The county’s interim finance director introduced herself at the July 28 Board of Supervisors meeting and summarized early work and priorities intended to stabilize the finance office while the county continues recruitment for a permanent director.
The interim director said she began onsite July 15 and is limited to 16 hours per week. She listed four strategic priorities for the interim period: redeveloping FY26 budget line-item detail, overseeing and supporting the FY25 audit (the county signed a contract with auditing firm CLA), mentoring and supporting existing finance staff, and addressing internal-control recommendations from the FY24 audit.
Board members thanked the interim director and asked for periodic updates; staff said she would attend at least one board meeting per month to report on financial status and progress. The board previously authorized a work order to bring in an interim director because the county lacks an experienced permanent finance director.
