Board approves rezoning for 115 Commerce Park Drive to industrial with applicant proffers

At its April 22 meeting the King William County Board of Supervisors approved a rezoning (case ZO1‑2022) to change a 4.2‑acre parcel at 115 Commerce Park Drive from B‑2 (general business) to industrial, a move staff and the Economic Development Authority supported to allow greater flexibility for light‑industrial uses.
Planning staff described the site and explained that the applicant submitted a proffer on March 27 limiting certain uses on the property. The proffer excludes uses including petroleum or chemical storage up to 30,000 gallons, resource extraction, a truck or freight terminal, commercial kennel and a crematory. Staff said the planning commission had forwarded the request to the board with a recommendation of approval subject to the submitted proffer.
Jack Wilson, representing the applicant, told the board the applicant continues to be interested in moving the project forward and asked for a favorable vote. "It's been a pleasure to work with Miss Wolf. She's done an excellent job in this presentation, and, obviously, we just, ask for your favorable vote," Wilson said.
A supervisor moved to approve ZO1‑2022 with the planning commission's recommended conditions; the board took a roll call and recorded the motion as passing with affirmative votes recorded by the clerk.
