North Bend moves up Oregon Main Street tiers; agreement requires fee to National Main Street

Stephanie Wilson, participating remotely, explained the designation change and said the state-level agreement is a formality that aligns the city with the state program; the required fee is paid to National Main Street and is due in April. Staff said the state coordinator accepted a post-meeting signature because the formal document lists an earlier date.
The city administrator said the designation increase makes North Bend one of a small set of communities elevated to the higher tier and noted that the higher ranking improves grant competitiveness. Councilors expressed general support and asked about timing and process; staff confirmed paperwork and payment schedules and that the fee is the only budgetary amount tied to the agreement.
The matter was reviewed for the council packet; staff will execute the signature and complete payment steps per the state and national program requirements.
