Board orders demolition of 2707 Morales Street after staff documents structural collapse

Photos showed roof holes allowing natural light into interior rooms, extensive charred wood members and debris accumulation that prevented a full interior inspection.
Staff recommended demolition of both the main and accessory structures. The Board voted to declare the property a public nuisance and ordered demolition within 30 days; the motion carried on the record. The board noted proximity to local schools and prior abatements in the property’s history.
Development Services will coordinate demolition scheduling and notices as required under City Code Article 8, Chapter 6.
