Committee approves Microsoft enrollment in habitat conservation program for 79.98-acre site

Riley Bosegger, senior planner with Development Services, told the committee that Microsoft Corporation is seeking enrollment in the SCP Habitat Conservation Plan for a proposed 79.98-acre project at Petrenco Road and Military Drive in Council District 6. Bosegger said the site includes zero acres of Golden-cheeked Warbler (GCW) habitat inside the project area and zero acres within 300 feet of the area, and staff recommended approval of the enrollment request.
Bosegger outlined the fees associated with enrollment: a participation fee of $78,620, a plan administration fee of $7,862, and a $2,500 application fee the applicant has already paid. "The applicant will be required to pay the full mitigation fee of $86,482 prior to completing enrollment in the plan," Bosegger said. He added that a city biologist was on the call to answer any technical questions staff could not address.
After staff presentation there were no questions from online attendees or the room. A motion to approve the application was moved (motion attributed to Committee member McGlamory) and seconded; the committee conducted a roll-call vote and all members present voted aye, and the motion passed.
Next steps: payment of the full mitigation fee is required before the enrollment process can be completed; the applicant will work with staff and the plan administrator to finalize enrollment.
