Chief Ash described the pumper procurement as part of the department's apparatus-replacement schedule and said longer lead times now mean ordered apparatus are arriving about 48 months after order. He said the county uses a cooperative Houston‑Galveston contract to obtain base pricing and then customizes units to local needs. "They're now 48 months," he said of current delivery lead times, and added the county anticipates receiving the ordered truck about four years from now.
The clerk called the roll on the consent motion; the board recorded unanimous approval and the motion carried.
