Council approves moving senior-center activities to Tag Center; EMS may use senior building

The council approved a plan to move senior-center activities and the senior-dining program to the Tag Center, setting April 1 as a target date for the transition. Mayor (Speaker 1) and staff said EMS had expressed interest in using the senior-center building for training and office space. Staff noted the move will require rezoning and planning-commission review before any occupancy change for the senior-center building.
Julie (Speaker 3), representing the senior center, said the move is feasible and staff discussed a short timeline, with planning commission and rezoning processes likely to push a formal move into early April. "We can do that till March... Should be moving in in early April," Julie said. The council approved the motion to move senior programming to the Tag Center (motion by Olson, second by Henkel) by unanimous roll call.
Council members asked staff to coordinate keys, a site visit and interior adjustments (cubicles, kitchen access) before the move; the city will confirm dates and notify program users in advance.
