Staff explained that the state requires planning commissions to submit a summary of development activity, a comprehensive plan project status report and a priority funding area worksheet. The report lists seven building permits issued in 2025 (five new single‑family permits and two multi‑family/condo permits) and notes that none of those units had received final certificates of occupancy as of the report date.
The staff presentation emphasized that the report is used for the state’s oversight and the five‑year check on the comprehensive plan adopted in 2022. "The comprehensive plan was approved in 2022. It's good for 10 years, but the state requires that the planning commission review that plan after 5 years to determine whether or not there's any changes," staff said during the briefing.
Commissioners discussed how the report will be used in future updates and thanked staff for compiling the material. A motion to approve the annual report was moved, seconded and adopted by voice roll call; staff will transmit the report to the town board for filing with the state.
The approval does not itself change the plan; it documents activity and flag items for future attention as part of the five‑year review process.
