Senate lays over package of House resolutions honoring veterans until Feb. 9

The Colorado Senate on Feb. 6 agreed to lay over a package of House joint resolutions recognizing a range of military veterans and related observances until Monday, Feb. 9, 2026.

A chamber member moved on the floor, 'I move that house joint resolution 1004, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1008, 1009, 1010, 1011, 1012, 1013, 1014, 1015, and 1016 lay over until Monday, 02/09/2026.' The motion was put to a voice vote and the presiding officer announced, 'The ayes have it.' (Transcript: motion read and voice vote called.)

The package as read includes House joint resolution 1004 (recognition of military veterans, POW/MIA and Gold Star families); 1005 (recognition of African American veterans); 1006 (recognition of Latina and Latino veterans); 1007 (honoring Native American veterans and communities); draft resolution 1008 (recognition and honoring of women veterans); direct resolution 1009 (transcript reads 'veterans bridal health awareness'); 1010 (recognition and remembrance of Colorado veterans who served in the Vietnam War); 1011 (honoring Colorado veterans on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II); 1012 (honoring Korean War veterans); 1013 (recognition and remembrance of Colorado veterans who served in the Persian Gulf War); 1014 (honoring post‑9/11 veterans); 1015 (the 58th anniversary of the capture of the USS Pueblo); and 1016 (honoring the 10th Mountain Division of Colorado).
