Council OKs StreetScan USA contract to extend pavement and sidewalk scans

The planned work includes adding trail‑system scans to the program.
Presenter described the system's outputs: graded road condition data used in repaving prioritization and predictive maintenance, enabling staff to direct repairs rather than waiting for reported potholes. A councilmember asked whether existing potholes can be submitted for immediate attention; staff replied potholes should still be called in for prompt repairs while the scans inform longer‑term planning.
Councilmember moved, seconded and the council approved the contract extension by voice vote. The city will continue using scanned data for road grading, planning repaving cycles and assessing sidewalk/trail repairs.
Next steps: staff will schedule the scans, add trail coverage as planned, and incorporate StreetScan outputs into pavement management decisions.
