He also reported progress on procuring a portion of Mount Airy Apartments to extend the town’s water treatment facilities.
Council members asked follow‑up questions about the purchase price; McCarron said the appraisal came in substantially higher ("on the order of 1.3"), indicating valuation exceeded purchase price. No budget vote on construction was taken at this meeting.
