Kennesaw council approves facility contracts and fiscal-year 2025 budget adjustments

Kennesaw — The City Council on Feb. 2 approved routine fiscal-year-end budget amendments and several facility contracts to address high-use public spaces.
Jennifer Corte, finance staff, presented the FY25 budget adjustments made in conjunction with the annual audit: transfers from the General Fund to support the museum, gardens and streetlights; an increase in group-insurance allocations to cover overages; higher-than-expected opioid and Hotel/Motel revenue to be reflected by increased budgets; and reclassification of ARPA expenditures to show they were spent in FY25.
Council then approved three separate Gordian contracts under state contract: a $24,496 classroom refresh at the Southern Museum; a $42,019 restroom-flooring and fixture update for the museum using SPLAS funds; and a $37,815 final-phase public-flooring replacement in the Ben Robertson Community Center. Each resolution was moved and approved by unanimous vote.
Council recorded no dissent and gave staff direction to proceed with the contracting and budget entries as presented.
