Kennesaw โ The City Council on Feb. 2 approved two retail-package alcohol licenses for beer, wine and Sunday sales.
Staff presented the first application for 1 Stop Gas at 2520 Cobb Parkway NW (applicant Dawbag Singh), confirming required alcohol workshop completion, advertising and background checks. Council moved and unanimously approved the license.
At the item for Kennesaw Mart (3055 North Main Street), staff said the location previously housed Hi Hello Mart and that the applicant, Zohab Bayani, had completed required training and background checks. A distance survey showed the site is within 300 feet of a private residence and within 600 feet of a religious assembly; staff noted the council may waive those distance requirements if no adverse effect is found. Finance director recommended approval; the council approved the license unanimously.
Mayor noted on the record that Councilmember Tracy Byers disclosed a prior professional relationship with a landlord connected to an upcoming item; the record reflects the disclosure. No votes against or abstentions were recorded on the alcohol-license approvals.
