Police report: December and annual statistics show increases in narcotics, fraud and larceny

For December, the chief said drugs and narcotics offenses increased by 11 from the same period last year, fraud rose by six incidents and larceny increased by six. Operational figures for the month included 750 dispatch calls, 1,549 self‑initiated activities, 873 traffic citations, and 78 arrests.
Year‑to‑date figures showed broader changes: drugs and narcotics offenses rose by 13, fraud offenses increased by 39, intimidation rose by 52, and larcenies increased by 36. The chief noted a reduction in simple assaults of 61 incidents for the year. Annual operational totals included 9,226 dispatch calls, 17,862 self‑initiated activities, 8,409 traffic citations and 965 arrests.
The chief framed the numbers as part of routine reporting to the council and did not propose specific new policies during the work session.
