The Kennesaw City Council agreed on Monday to postpone a public hearing on a rezoning request for 1695 Pine Mountain Road after the applicant asked for more time to address access concerns raised at a community meeting. Planning staff told the council the application, submitted by PR Group Georgia LLC with legal representation from Rosen and Rosen and Rosen and Ryan LLP, seeks to rezone 8.23 acres from Highway General Business to Land Management Development Residential for townhome construction.
Planning staff said the applicant submitted a written request on Dec. 31 to move the case into the February cycle so it could respond to comments from a Dec. 8 community meeting. The applicant’s attorney, Adam Rosen, told the council the team has been working with city staff and an adjoining property owner on an outstanding access issue and needed additional time to resolve it.
"We left that meeting with some potential follow‑up from us, city, and our adjoining property owner," Adam Rosen said, describing ongoing negotiations over access. Planning staff recommended postponement to give the applicant a chance to address the community concerns.
Mayor and council moved to postpone the public hearing to Feb. 16 for Mayor and Council; no objections were voiced during the work session and the body signaled agreement to the requested delay. The council’s postponement means the formal public hearing and any final action on the rezoning will occur at the rescheduled meeting.
