The Warrick County Board of Commissioners took a mix of approvals and tabling actions at its Feb. 9 meeting. Key votes and outcomes are listed below.
- Release of surety: Approved release of $6,937.70 held for entrance construction at Lighthouse Storage of Newberg LLC (project manager Ryan Gallardin). Approved unanimously.
- Rezoning: Approved ordinance 2026-1 to rezone ~0.806 acres on Cary Road (PCR 25-11; Mark and Jamie Greer) from C-3 Highway Commercial to Agricultural. Approved unanimously.
- Kirby PUD street plans (PP2601): Approved primary plat/street construction plans for Kirby PUD (2400 Green River Road Investments LLC, managing member Chris Combs) for ~11.649 acres; the county engineer signed the inspection and staff recommended approval. Approved unanimously.
- EREP annual agreement and EDD resolution: Approved annual EREP membership agreement (funds already budgeted) and adopted resolution 2026-2 supporting pursuit of an Economic Development District designation.
- Purchasing ordinance: Motion to table the ordinance to allow department heads and purchasers time to review the final draft. Tabled unanimously; staff will schedule a review meeting and revisit Feb. 23.
- Accounts payable voucher: Approved accounts payable voucher dated 02/09/2026 in the amount of $1,037,804.62. Approved unanimously.
- Uncertified claim (parking fees): An uncertified claim for $650 related to parking fees (Wharron County Community Corrections) was tabled pending clarification of supporting receipts and explanation.
- Treasurer's report: January 2026 treasurer's report approved.
- Animal control radios: Purchase request by Brandon Russell (animal control) was tabled pending dispatch coordination and confirmation of radio IDs; item to be revisited Feb. 23.
- Security center draw number 35: Approved Garmon Construction Services draw #35 for $1,012,242.47 and other listed reimbursements/payments.
- Conflict-of-interest disclosure: Accepted Sheriff Mike Wilder's annual disclosure noting a family member employed by First Advantage (insurance vendor) that provides coverage to the county.
- Surplus declarations: Approved a list of surplus capital assets across departments to clear records for the annual financial report.
- Community Crossings bids: For the Epworth Road resurfacing project, the board approved the low bid from E & B Paving ($921,834.25) subject to responsiveness and responsibility checks; motion carried.
