In the South zone, the board approved a $9,009.78 Tiers award for 16 East Concho (project cost $13,003.04; match $3,003.26) to add an awning, repaint the building and pay permit fees. Minutes record that the project was approved by DHRC; board members asked about awning materials before voting. The board recorded the approval as unanimous.
The board also considered two extension requests. 214 South Chadbourne, originally approved on 04/12/2024 with an original completion date of 04/12/2026, requested an extension to 12/12/2026 to allow for permit processing, engineering work and fire-prevention confirmation on a rear patio. Staff and members said additional engineering and fire-prevention reviews delayed completion.
Applicants for 109 South Chadbourne (approved in 2023) asked to extend the deadline to 06/30/2026, citing financing delays. Owner Amy Zetzman told the board she had secured a letter of support from a bank and hopes to start construction in January 2026: "The reason is financing... I finally think I've found a good source of financing and should be able to move forward on construction, beginning, fingers crossed, January 2026." The board voted to approve both extensions by voice vote and members cautioned that further extensions might be limited to ensure fairness to other applicants.
