Monica Ramos, director of downtown San Angelo, presented new marketing materials for the city's Tiers program, including printed window display boards and yard signs intended for high-visibility properties and a bilingual advertisement in the Connexion booklet.
Ramos said staff produced 20 printed boards and a yard-sign alternative with wire stakes for landscaping, and that the Connexion placement included a buy-one-get-one offer the program used to add a Spanish and English testimonial from a past recipient, Carla Cardenas. "We have a tiers ad, and we got an extra free page where we included a Spanish and English testimonial from 1 of the past recipients, Ms. Carla Cardenas," Ramos said.
The materials are intended to help property owners and passersby identify whether a location falls inside Tiers boundaries and to attract new applicants. Ramos told the board staff will place signage "within the next few weeks at some select properties that are at high visibility locations" and will continue active outreach with partners and at predevelopment meetings.
Board members and staff noted this outreach is a cooperative effort involving Downtown San Angelo, staff member Hannah (who located the prototype board), and a subcommittee working on marketing. The board applauded the effort and encouraged continued contact with potential applicants, particularly in neighborhoods targeted by the North and South zones.
Ramos and members said the ad and signage complement word-of-mouth outreach and will be used alongside presentations to industry groups scheduled in coming months. The board did not take a formal vote on the marketing items; the presentation was recorded as part of the public comment and director's updates.
