The San Angelo Development Corporation introduced Ryan Gaddy as the new economic development director at its Dec. 10 meeting after the interview panel selected a candidate from a pool of roughly 18–20 applicants.
Interim leadership reported that the city manager, mayor and a board subpanel participated in interviews. Board members introduced Gaddy and asked him to remain engaged with members after the meeting. Gaddy, formerly an assistant finance director with the city, thanked the board and said he plans to work with partners to diversify the tax base, focus on small‑scale manufacturing projects and develop a recognizable brand for San Angelo to aid recruitment and retention.
Board members welcomed Gaddy and invited continued collaboration in upcoming meetings; no separate formal vote was recorded on the floor in the transcript beyond the panel’s hiring decision.
