Rockwall previews Hometown Christmas, tree lighting, Breakfast with Santa and January dances

City staff briefed the Rockwall City Park Board on Dec. 9 about a slate of holiday and early‑January community events, urging board members and residents to take part.
Speaker 3 outlined the Hometown Christmas schedule: the Kiwanis parade will begin Saturday and end at Dobbs, downtown activities start at 10 a.m. with bounce houses, balloon artists, arts and crafts and a Snowhill play area open through 5 p.m., and a tree lighting in front of City Hall is scheduled around 6:15 p.m. Live music, hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Rockwall Women's League were included in the program.
"There'll be bounce houses, balloon artists... Snowhill, we'll have a real real life Snowhill downtown that's always exciting for the kids," the board member said. The event program was described as family‑oriented and expected to run into the evening with seasonal attractions and performers.
Staff also reported that 'Breakfast with Santa' registrations are open (two sessions at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.) with IHOP supplying food, and that registration is open for the Jan. 24 daddy‑daughter dance; the earlier time slot for the dance was reported to be nearly full with several hundred registrations already recorded for related events.
Board members noted staff involvement with parade float construction and encouraged attendance.
