Rockwall City Council on Monday approved a resolution to fix residential garbage-collection rates and accepted Republic Services’ implementation plan for new carts and schedules, passing the measure 4–3.
Republic Services representative Rick Barnes told the council the company already mailed a notice to residents and will deliver and stage carts the week of Dec. 15, with cart deliveries beginning Dec. 29 and Jan. 5. Republic said recycling will shift to a single weekly pickup beginning the week of Jan. 12 and that the company will place yard signs at neighborhood entrances to remind residents of the new Wednesday service for affected areas.
