Fall conferences are proposed for Oct. 6 and 8 (Oct. 8 to be an early-release day), and winter conferences for Feb. 9 and Feb. 11 (Feb. 11 to be an early-release day). The administration said these changes will give secondary staff time to complete Strive's 30'35 hours of asynchronous work plus three short synchronous sessions.
Board members asked whether some PD days could be front-loaded at the beginning of the school year to reduce family disruptions and requested clearer labeling for assessment days, early-release days and final-day language for family calendars. Administration said it will check the calendar wording and provide clarified labels before the next board action.
The board did not vote on the calendar; administration plans to return with a formal calendar for board action at a subsequent meeting.
