Council approves consent agenda and several appropriations including $20,000 to SRI

Tippecanoe County Council approved its consent agenda, accepted amended minutes, and passed several appropriations during the February meeting.
The council approved an additional appropriation of $20,000 from the sheriff sale administration fund to pay SRI for sheriff-sale services (mortgage-foreclosure and real estate transaction sales). A presenter said the county has paid SRI for these services for multiple years and that the $20,000 is the ongoing annual payment. The motion was moved and seconded and passed on a voice vote.
The council also reapproved an unclaimed-funds appropriation of $300 (fund 4141) to return money seized in a 2024 sheriff’s office criminal investigation. Meeting comments indicated that Judge Marisi of Superior 6 issued a court order authorizing that release; the council voted to approve returning the funds to the defendant.
Separately, the council approved an Area 4 AACAP grant appropriation to support rural transportation services in and around Tippecanoe County. Tom, the presenter, said the partnership has provided these services for four to five years and that the overseeing board meets monthly.
Each appropriation was presented, motioned, seconded and approved by voice vote; the meeting record does not list a roll-call tally for yes/no votes.
