Valerie (S1), staff lead on recycling events, told trustees the villagepartner Dynamics Recycling Innovations offers free events to municipalities under an East Central Wisconsin program and that past spring and fall events ran free for Weston residents. She described the setup (semis and crew on site) and traffic-management lessons—doubling lanes around the backside of the property for better throughput.
Trustees discussed whether to limit events to Weston residents or open them more broadly. Trustee Zagami moved to authorize opening the events to the public; the motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote. Trustees asked staff to consider earlier volunteer arrival times, additional volunteers and targeted advertising to avoid overwhelming the site.
Implementation: staff will schedule spring/fall events, coordinate with Dynamics Recycling Innovations and arrange volunteer support and traffic plans.
