Weston plan commission recommends forwarding 2026 zoning and ETZ maps to trustees

The Village of Weston Plan Commission and its extraterritorial zoning (ETZ) committee voted Feb. 9 to recommend that the Board of Trustees adopt the 2026 official zoning map and the 2026 official ETZ map.
Staff told the commission the maps are an annual administrative update consolidating previously approved zoning actions and do not propose any new rezonings or parcel-specific changes. “This public hearing is being held to receive public comment on the proposed adoption of the 2026 official zoning map and the 2026 official extraterritorial zoning map,” staff said during the hearing and emphasized that final action will be taken by the Village Board at a future meeting.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing. After the public comment period, the planning commission approved a motion to forward the zoning map recommendation to the Board of Trustees (motion by Mumper; seconded by Zagami). The ETZ committee separately approved the same recommendation (motion by Hall; seconded by Phelps).
The staff presentation noted the maps serve administrative and historical recordkeeping functions and reflect prior public hearings and approved zoning decisions. The Board of Trustees will take final action at a subsequent meeting.
