County finance proposes $2 million ARPA transfer to restore technology fund after Workday project

Johnson County finance staff told supervisors on Feb. 4 that they will ask the board to consider a $2,000,000 transfer from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) standard allowance funds into the county technology fund.
"I have before you today a proposed resolution that would allow for an interfund transfer of $2,000,000 from the ARPA standard allowance on a unobligated fund balance to the technology fund," Dana Aschenbrenner, Johnson County Finance, told the board. She explained that Workday implementation had reduced working capital in the technology fund and that the transfer would reestablish resiliency and reserve balances for future technology needs.
Aschenbrenner said the resolution will be before the board at next week's formal meeting and recommended adoption. Supervisors asked for additional details on what portion of the Workday costs were already budgeted and requested budget figures to be provided before the formal vote.
Next steps: county finance will provide the requested budget figures and bring the proposed resolution to the formal meeting next week for a vote.
