Hampton Aquatics reports increased pool use, expanded classes and community partnerships to Coldwater council

Hampton said the center now offers 11 water‑fitness classes, six‑week learn‑to‑swim courses for ages 6 months through adult, private lessons, CPR/BLS/AED certification services and workforce training for lifeguards. She reported several large events in 2025, including an open house that drew more than 300 attendees and hosting the Michigan State Games, which brought athletes from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Hampton highlighted partnerships with local organizations that purchase punch passes for clients (including the Friendship Center and Coldwater Township), programs for middle‑ and high‑school physical education classes, Burnside Senior Center discounts and training collaborations with external trainers. She said the facility employs 19 part‑time staff and works with an eight‑member aquatic committee.
Looking ahead, Hampton said she hopes to integrate learn‑to‑swim into Coldwater elementary curriculum, host summer events and expand community use of a glass room on the pool deck as a birthday/party room. She closed by thanking staff and community partners for helping expand access.
