Board approves 2026 ICAP/IMWCA renewals; county values and cyber limits discussed

"We did a study with our IT department…that's how we come up to that $1,000,000 number," an insurance representative said. Other lines — general liability, officers liability and auto liability — saw small percentage changes; workers' compensation experience mod rose from 0.7 to 0.88, driven by elevated loss amounts in the review period.
Board members asked for clarity on line-item comparisons and the differences between prior and current term calculations; staff explained a 13th-month timing anomaly was removed for apples-to-apples comparison. The board approved the renewals by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
Members praised the jail and roads teams for a good safety record and asked staff to continue monitoring claims trends and provide updated numbers for budgeting.
