Commission hears directors report on community academy; excuses granted for two commissioners

At the Feb. 9 meeting the commission received a director's report about a six-week community academy (MarchApril), was reminded of a Feb. 19 City Council work session, and voted to excuse Commissioner Stinson from Feb. 23 and Commissioner Thompson from the Feb. 9 meeting.
The Mountlake Terrace Planning Commission received a directors report Feb. 9 outlining a second annual community academy designed to educate residents on city departments and operations. The director said the series is planned as a six-week program beginning in March with sessions led by various departments and that about 32 seats are available.
The director also reminded commissioners that the City Council meeting on Feb. 19 will include the commissions 2026 work plan and a summary of 2025 accomplishments; commissioners are encouraged to attend and may present their work plan or have staff present for them.
During miscellaneous business the commission approved two procedural motions. A motion to excuse Commissioner Stinson from the Feb. 23 meeting was made, seconded and approved unanimously. Commissioners then moved and approved excusing Commissioner Thompson from the Feb. 9 meeting. The chair then adjourned the meeting.
