Chickasaw County supervisors opened and reviewed four bids for two courthouse electrical panel projects on Feb. 9. Custodian Dave Gorman confirmed contractors had visited the site; the lowest responsive bid was reported as $7,993 from Stan(dard) Electric. The board moved to accept the low bid and award the courthouse electrical work to that contractor; the motion carried by voice vote.
Later in the meeting staff raised a maintenance request for the Heritage Center kitchen countertop. One vendor quote had been obtained and the price was under $5,000; supervisors agreed to proceed with the replacement without obtaining a second quote and noted funds exist in the capital budget for the work.
Board members said they would notify unsuccessful bidders and follow up on contracting logistics; custodial staff will return next week with any additional quotes for other maintenance equipment (lawnmower) as discussed.
