County OKs state‑bid replacement vehicle for sheriff, discusses body‑cam upgrade

Supervisors discussed paying from current fund balance or using a budget amendment; several said they preferred to authorize the purchase now and then adjust the budget with a March amendment if needed.
The sheriff also reported on body‑camera equipment: he obtained two bids and said a vendor (Guardian) offered a favorable trade and refresh price, which staff had budgeted for and planned to pursue to keep technology current.
Outcome: Motion to authorize the sheriff to purchase the replacement vehicle under the state bid was carried by voice vote. The board directed staff to handle necessary budget amendments and logistics as needed.
