Renton council adopts resolution on surplus easement and approves two fiber franchise ordinances

These franchise approvals provide the named companies authority to install fiber infrastructure under, along, over and across city streets, avenues and alleys; the ordinances were described as granting the right, privilege and authority to operate within the city’s public right-of-way. The council did not discuss roll-call vote tallies beyond the recorded unanimous ayes during the meeting.
