Judge denies Trejo’s request to cut bond; $300,000 remains with GPS condition

Trejo and defense counsel said Trejo’s family owns a home and could assist with a lower bond and that ankle monitoring and house arrest would mitigate risk. Defense asked the court to set bond at $50,000 with monitoring so the family could post bail.
Prosecutors and the court emphasized the seriousness of the allegation — that Trejo is accused of involvement in an early-morning shooting — and noted recent juvenile arrests and the defendant’s role as the vehicle driver during the incident. The judge said the case raised “great concern” and denied the request to reduce bond, but added as a condition that if the defendant posts bond he will be required to wear a GPS monitoring device and remain on house arrest.
The court scheduled the case for a later announcement and left other pretrial conditions in place.
