Council proclaims Utah PTA centennial; library announces programs; resident urges safety fixes at school crossing

In public comment, Brett Hanson of South Arcadia Lane described a recent crash at 4500 South and Holiday Boulevard in which a child was struck but survived. "If we do not do something about to fix this intersection, it's only a matter of time before someone is killed or seriously injured," Hanson said, asking the council to add a protected left‑turn signal and repair a sometimes‑broken streetlight. Council members thanked Hanson, acknowledged receipt of his email, and asked staff to follow up with traffic and public‑works personnel.
Library staff (Trudy) also reported upcoming closures for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving, a monthlong 'gratitude turkey' activity, a new board‑game night beginning Dec. 13 and a suicide‑prevention class Dec. 3 co‑sponsored with the Happy Healthy Holiday Coalition.
