Commissioner Paul Webb explained that constituents in northern parts of Williamson County experienced significant outages and lack direct representation on the NES board, which is appointed by Metro Nashville officials. Commissioners discussed potential remedies ranging from adding Williamson County representation on the NES board to exploring options to adjust service-area assignments; legal counsel said larger changes may require state action because of the Nashville Metro charter and TVA service-area arrangements.
Outcome: The commission passed Resolution 2-26-26 (recorded 23 yes, 0 no). Commissioners said they will forward the resolution to the county’s state legislative delegation and monitor any legislative work addressing NES governance.
