Superintendent outlines safety connector project at Ross High School, highlights girls' wrestling facilities and community space

"First and foremost, it is a safety connector project that will allow us to safely have connection between the Natatorium Building... and our new Ross High School," the superintendent said, describing the project as both a safety improvement and an opportunity to add useful program spaces.
The connector design includes a dedicated locker room and coaches space for the girls' wrestling program, storage for wrestling mats used by both girls and boys teams, new public restrooms, a concession stand and lobby space for spectators between events. The superintendent noted the girls' wrestling program has recently grown from a club into a varsity sport and said relatively high participation motivated the district to provide a dedicated locker room.
The superintendent said the district will pay for the connector with dollars left over from the original building project rather than new levy funds. He also praised the district's project manager, Mr. Anway, and the district's partnership with architect TDA for producing renderings that integrate with the existing campus.
The district plans to post renderings and additional materials on its website as construction proceeds. No construction timeline or contract dollar amounts were read aloud during the meeting.
