Sweeter said the department is not seeking new capital funds this year and is coordinating with the sheriff’s office for vehicle use. Commissioners praised the program’s volunteer fundraising and facilities; Sweeter estimated volunteers had raised roughly $500,000 for grounds and buildings over time and said lighting for the horse arena is funded and slated for installation when weather permits.
The commission did not take any formal action; the presentation was informational and commissioners thanked staff for program improvements.
