City planning staff presented a set of proposed amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) intended to align the code with the comprehensive plan and clarify development standards.
Helen Bell summarized proposed changes across chapters, including demolition-review triggers (section 4.6.5.2), accessory dwelling unit and lot-development standards, minimum setbacks, temporary signs and allowances for cell-site equipment. Staff said the amendments are intended to clarify administration and make certain review timeframes consistent.
Several council members asked for a consolidated, single redline copy of the proposed revisions before action. Councilmember Brandon Blade specifically requested tabling the item to provide adequate time to cross-check conflicting submissions and chapters. After discussion council elected to defer final action and asked staff to return with a comprehensive redline and clear summaries of substantive changes.
Next steps: staff will prepare a consolidated redline and supporting memo for council review at a future policy session; no final ordinance was adopted at this meeting.
