Utility board reschedules December meeting, hears staff updates on policy and retirements

During the Nov. 20 meeting the Albany Utility Board voted to reschedule its December meeting to Monday, Dec. 15 at 08:30. The motion was moved and passed by roll call.
General Manager (referred to in the meeting as 'mister Dan') told the board staff is working on a utility policy expected in December and noted that Miss Petty will retire early next year; staff emphasized capturing institutional knowledge before retirements. Board members also discussed recent retirements in Public Works (Julia Watson and Clay Miller were named) and the potential loss of long-tenured technical knowledge; the general manager described establishing an organizational development function to support succession planning.
