The board and community recognized John Mosca, a Yorktown High School student in the Putnam/Northern Westchester (PNW) BOCES HVAC program, at the Feb. 9 meeting.
Dr. Greg Brown, assistant superintendent at PNW BOCES, and Career Academy principal Jessica Miller described Mosca’s work ethic and noted he is interning with the district’s operations and maintenance department. "John consistently pursues growth and improvement in his skills," Miller said in introducing remarks about his internship performance.
Mosca received a medal and congratulatory remarks from board members and PNW staff. Superintendent Hatter thanked PNW for the district partnership and noted the HVAC field is a strong career pathway for students.
The recognition highlighted a partnership between the district and PNW BOCES and the role of career and technical education in preparing students for work.
