The Cameron Parish Police Jury on Aug. 4, 2025, voted to appoint Kristen B. Saltzman as registrar of voters and administered her oath of office.
The motion to appoint Saltzman was made from the floor and seconded; the jury voted "Aye" and the motion carried. Following the vote the jury congratulated the new registrar and administered the oath.
During the oath Saltzman stated, "I, Kristen B Saltzman, do solemnly swear or affirm that I will support the Constitution and the laws of the United States and the Constitution and laws of this state ... that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all duties incumbent upon me as registrar of voters in and for Cameron Parish according to the best of my ability and understanding. So help me God." Afterward she thanked jurors and added, "I stand before you today deeply honored and grateful to accept the appointment ... I pledge to carry it out professionally, accountably, and with a deep respect for the voice of every voter in our parish."
The appointment and oath conclude the formal handover; the jury did not record any additional conditions on the appointment in the meeting minutes. Saltzman’s role places her responsible for running voter registration and certain local election administration tasks for Cameron Parish.
The jury’s next regular meeting is expected to revisit other agenda items already set for future action; no further procedural steps for the registrar were listed during the Aug. 4 session.
