The House welcomed Dustin Allport (president, area council) and Jan Cundy (National Area Council representative) and three youth candidates from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wyoming. Dustin Allport said the statewide network "serves over 317,000 free meals and snacks to the youth across Wyoming" and described the organization's reach across six organizations and 27 club sites.
Nathan Hurley, the area's Youth of the Year and a 16‑year‑old sophomore at Central High School, told the chamber that the club helped him after years of mental‑health struggles and hospitalization. "The club has strengthened me as a person and developed me into a leader in many ways," Hurley said, noting volunteer work and ROTC participation. The floor recognized the candidates and noted that state winners advance to regional and national competitions; the organization announced scholarships for the participants.
Representatives rose to applaud the organization and invited the guests to the rotunda event later in the day. The floor later recessed for lunch at noon.
