The Infrastructure Committee on Feb. 9 approved a procurement for furnishings at RiverEdge Park not to exceed $207,000, using a cooperative contract with Interiors for Business. Jason Bau of Public Works said the package covers backstage and other building furnishings, many with lead times around six to eight weeks, and that the audio equipment package will return to committee in the coming weeks.
Bau said staff coordinated floor plans and a "lookbook" with the architect and event production stakeholders to ensure rooms function for concerts and production management. He confirmed funding for the furnishings comes from bond proceeds and that procurement timing is on track to support the park’s opening for the concert season in May.
The committee approved the purchase by unanimous voice vote (4-0). Staff will upload floor plans and the lookbook to committee materials and return with the audio equipment package in a subsequent meeting.
