The Michigan City Redevelopment Commission voted Feb. 9 to retain Trammell Rags of Rags Law PC as its general counsel.
Skyler York summarized the selection process, saying staff reviewed historical payments to previous counsel and the current and anticipated project load. York explained the choice reflected growing project volume and the firm’s municipal and real-estate law expertise. Trammell Rags addressed the commission: “I am just ready to, do good work for the city of Michigan City and the Michigan City Redevelopment Commission,” and thanked commissioners for the contract approval.
The contract was approved by roll call with commissioners Clarence, Bill, Tracy and Sherry Wilson voting aye. Legal counsel said the recommended contract terms were consistent with prior practice and that he would review routine contracts as they arise.
