CalPERS technical staff announced February delivery of CSV payroll upload and MFA fixes, and a March 2026 rollout of a new myCalPERS reports module (replacing Cognos). RAR reconciliation screens will refresh daily to reduce late fees. Employers should follow a 34‑header CSV template and use test uploads.
Brianna Thompson of CalPERS’ employer technical support team outlined a set of myCalPERS enhancements intended to simplify employer reporting and speed reconciliations.
She said the February release will introduce CSV uploads as an additional option for payroll earned‑period and adjustment reports; CSV reporting requires separate files for earned period and adjustment reports and uses a provided 34‑header template that employers must not modify. “We now have added CSV file uploads as an additional way for employers to submit their payroll earn period and adjustment reports,” Thompson said.
Thompson described two upload approaches: a production upload with a test‑file indicator and a separate test environment for early file‑readiness. She recommended newer users upload test reports before moving to production. She also noted the CSV capability will extend to the CalPERS 457 plan in a future enhancement (targeted April).
Other items in the February release include multifactor authentication (MFA) defect fixes (a November enhancement that produced a county‑administrator reset issue) and an option to set a default MFA method (email or text) at account creation.
Thompson said a March 2026 release will deploy a new myCalPERS reports module that migrates Cognos reports in‑platform, adds a dashboard for saved reports, improved run‑options, and clearer information icons. Generated reports will be available for 14 days when saved by a user; system‑generated scheduled reports will be retained for one year.
CalPERS also said it is updating retirement appointment reconciliation (RAR) screens so the data refreshes daily instead of monthly to help employers avoid missed payroll and late fees.
The technical support team pointed employers to online technical resources and provided an inquiry email (employertechnicalsupport@calpers.ca.gov) and employer contact center for help.
CalPERS encouraged employers to test CSV templates in the test environment before switching to production and to review the forthcoming student guide and Cognos catalog updates that will mirror the myCalPERS reports layout.
