The Davis County Commission on Feb. 10 approved multiple community and economic development agreements aimed at promoting tourism and events.
Kent Anderson, speaking for the county’s Community & Economic Development office, asked the commission to sponsor the Utah Airshow Foundation’s 2026 Warriors over the Wasatch event at Hill Air Force Base with a $30,000 payable through July 1, 2026. Anderson described the airshow as one of Utah’s largest events and framed the sponsorship as an opportunity to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The commission also approved a three-year agreement with Playon Inc. (PlayEasy), a membership and marketing platform, for a total payable of $29,985 spanning Jan. 14, 2026–Jan. 13, 2029, to support the Discover Davis site and outreach to event organizers.
Finally, the commission approved an agreement with a Jazz basketball investor LLC to host a Jazz 3-on-3 tournament in Farmington. Anderson estimated the event would bring roughly 3,000 children to indoor arenas and outdoor parking areas. The county recorded a receivable of $6,711.25 associated with the event.
All three items were presented without extended debate and were approved by voice vote as part of the day’s consenting business.
