At the Feb. 3, 2025, meeting of the Daggett County Municipal Building Authority, board members received a construction update on the county's new building and water treatment project and flagged continuing concerns about the elevator and waterproofing work.
Unidentified Speaker 2 reported that crews "are installing the stainless steel pipe... and getting things hooked up," and said the project is "still moving forward" with no major issues reported. Unidentified Speaker 3 added that crews tied the water connection into the system on Saturday and are now working on the water line into the building, and that Bridge Valley Electric has started service to the new building and that service "should be at the end of the week."
Board members focused particular attention on the elevator and the building's waterproofing. When asked whether the elevator problem had been resolved, Unidentified Speaker 3 said contractors "tried to assure us that it works," but acknowledged ongoing concern and noted that, after shutting the pump off for a test, "the water didn't show," indicating further testing or monitoring is needed. Members described the project as "moving forward" while still expressing caution about the elevator's reliability.
The authority did not take any formal action on the construction updates at the meeting; members asked staff and contractors to continue work and monitoring. The board will revisit progress and any outstanding issues at a future meeting.
The authority adjourned at 9:41 a.m.
