"I appreciate it very much. Happy to serve once again," Carter said after the gavel was passed.
Carter immediately nominated Mister Gerhard to serve as vice chair for 2026; the board voted to appoint Gerhard by voice vote. The session record shows multiple routine organizational motions were adopted by voice vote, including the formal adoption of the meeting agenda and the board’s 2026 regular meeting schedule.
The board also adopted its 2026 proclamations and approved proposed committee assignment changes. The chair outlined specific committee adjustments: Darren Culbertson will be moved onto the finance committee, Mr. Washer will remain on finance, and the chair will take a seat on the Potomac Watershed Roundtable after Mr. Bridal comes off that committee. "That is my motion," the chair said before the board approved the changes by voice vote.
The organizational portion of the meeting concluded with supervisors offering brief remarks about priorities for the year and the chair adjourning the organizational agenda. The board moved into regular-session business and public hearings after a short break.
