The Fauquier County Planning Commission opened nominations for officers at its Jan. 21 work session. John Meadows was nominated and confirmed as chairman after nominations closed. Matthew Smith was nominated and seconded for vice chair and was affirmed by voice vote. Holly Mead was nominated and approved as secretary by voice vote.
The commission also reviewed bylaws and, noting there were no changes, adopted them by voice vote.
Why it matters: Officer elections determine who will preside over commission meetings and set procedural direction. The commission’s routine adoption of unchanged bylaws preserves existing procedures.
No roll-call tallies with member names were recorded in the transcript; outcomes were recorded via voice vote (ayes) and no recorded opposed votes.
