House receives committee reports, introduces three bills and adjourns until Feb. 11

The Colorado House convened for routine business and heard committee reports recommending referral, assignment, or postponement for a series of House bills, introduced three new bills and approved an adjournment until Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 9 a.m.
Committee reports led the morning business. "Mister Schiebel, reports of committees of reference," announced one speaker, and the Committee on Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources recommended that House Bills 10-25 (as amended), 10-31 and 10-67 be referred to the Committee of the Whole with a favorable recommendation. The Committee on Appropriations reported a long list of House bills (11-50 through 11-79), noting that House Bill 11-57 was amended and recommending referral to the Committee of the Whole with favor.
The Committee on Finance recommended that House Bills 10-26 and 10-53 (as amended) be referred to Appropriations with a favorable recommendation and moved to postpone House Bills 10-36 and 10-62 indefinitely. The Committee on State, Civic, Military and Veterans Affairs recommended that House Bills 10-73 and 10-74 be postponed indefinitely.
Lawmakers also received administrative notices: printing reports and messages from the Senate and the Reviser's office were announced for journal printing.
Three bills were introduced and assigned to committees. House Bill 11-91, sponsored by Representatives Johnson and Bacon and Senators Frizzell and Weissman, would make the state auditor's examination of a school district's records discretionary rather than mandatory for districts that receive state education fund money for capital construction projects for qualified charter schools; the bill was assigned to the Committee on Education. House Bill 11-92, introduced by Representative Phillips with Senator Exum, concerns restructuring the Homeless Prevention Activities Program and was assigned to the Committee on Transportation, Housing, and Local Government. House Bill 11-93, introduced by Representative Martinez, concerns vision tests for pre-kindergarten students and was assigned to the Committee on Education.
Near the end of the session, the majority leader moved that "the house stand in adjournment until Wednesday, February 11 at 9AM." The motion was adopted and the House adjourned until the stated time.
